Director of Business Development

Most of Janet’s career has been on your side of the table. As a former HR executive and organizational leader, Janet was the one deciding which recruiting firms to trust with her most critical hires. This experience means she understands your world beyond job descriptions—organizational dynamics, competing priorities, and real-world pain points. Janet also knows what separates a transactional vendor from a true strategic partner.

Today, as the Director of Business Development at Feldspar & Flint, Janet brings that perspective to every client relationship. With a background in strategic leadership, organizational development, and workforce planning, she approaches hiring holistically, asking, not only who can do the job, but how the role supports your broader business goals.

Janet’s philosophy is simple: partnership doesn't end with a signed agreement. Clients don’t just gain access to our recruiting team, they gain Janet’s ongoing involvement. She remains hands-on throughout the process, personally ensuring quality and alignment at every stage. Janet also serves on the Leadership Council for NYC SHRM, keeping her closely connected to the evolving priorities of HR leaders and hiring managers across industries.

Janet holds two master's degrees from Columbia University and a bachelor’s from Boston University. She brings a rare dual perspective as both a Senior Certified HR Professional (SHRM-SCP) and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), enabling her to assess interpersonal dynamics, culture fit, and the human elements of hiring that don’t show up on a résumé.

She’s supported by her four-legged intern, Reina—an American Staffy mix who occasionally joins meetings as she is still working on her professional boundaries.
